In a Deaf Sociology class, we discussed a need to develop the responsibility for the role that schools play in the psychosocial development of young people. And about the sense of belonging that can arise “from an emotional connection to individuals within the school, including peers and teachers, is fundamental to the sense of connectedness.” The article is focused on the relationship between the adults in children’s social worlds and the influences of and interactions with family, peers, and other social organizations.
